Community Standards

story.one is, at its heart, a community. We’re writers, readers… people who want to publish books, people who want to tell stories. Our community is open to anyone who wants to experience and engage with great writing.

We welcome views, we welcome constructive criticism and support. To make sure we get a diverse, inclusive community there are a couple of rules – to keep everything cool. There are boundaries to ensure story.one remains a safe, welcome place for everyone.

We expect everyone in our community to stick to these guidelines. And, if anyone doesn’t, then we ask the community to let us know.

Our standards apply worldwide to all users and to all types of content.

Our Guidelines

We’re a community

story.one is a friendly place. Respect, tolerance and diversity are important to us. Everyone who writes, reads, shares, comments and follows these Community Standards is welcome.

Banned Content

We want to make publishing accessible to everyone at story.one. We believe in an open view of the world and in human rights, freedom and democracy. That means racism, homophobia, sexism and any kind of discrimination or harassment has no place on the platform, in stories or in books. If you don’t comply, we’re not for you and vice versa. The community on story.one is generally positive and users support and motivate each other. We have to make sure that we keep it that way, to keep the feedback to other writers encouraging, motivating and empathetic.

The responsibility is yours

If you contribute either as a writer or a commentor, you are responsible for that contribution.

Don’t keep what’s not yours

Everyone who uses story.one must agree not to store content, the use of which violates applicable laws – in particular the provisions of the criminal code or laws against unfair competition. Users must refrain from violating third party rights – in particular third-party personal rights (the right to a good reputation) copyright and identification rights.

Dealing with those who don’t stick to our standards

If you can see someone has not adhered to our community’s standards, you can either report it via your (CHECK) story.one profile or email us at [email protected]

If a user violates these rules, they receive a warning. If further violations take place, we will restrict that person’s right to use our service or deactivate their account. In case of serious violations the account will be deleted without prior warning. We’re usually more strict with anyone using an alias.

Not happy with story.one?

We know we don’t always get things right. If you’re unhappy with story.one, contact us via contact fomular/E-Mail (don’t post publicly, that alienates the feed) so we can deal with your request directly. We are always open to constructive criticism and support.
